Generalized velocity-dependent one-scale model for current-carrying strings

We develop an analytic model to quantitatively describe the evolution of superconducting cosmic string networks. Specifically, we extend velocity-dependent one-scale (VOS) incorporate arbitrary currents and charges on world sheets under two main assumptions, validity which also discuss. derive equations that network in terms four macroscopic parameters: mean separation (or, alternatively, correlation length) root square velocity are cornerstones VOS model, together with parameters describing averaged timelike spacelike current contributions. show our extended description reproduces particular cases wiggly chiral strings, previously studied literature. This enables investigation possible observational signatures networks for more general state, these opportunities will be exploited a companion paper.
